New York Crushing & Recycling is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Weighmaster / Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in Kingston, NY.
This is a fast-paced position that serves as the first point of contact for our customers and truck drivers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable multitasking, providing outstanding customer service, and working with computer systems in a busy office environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Weighing inbound and outbound trucks using computerized truck scale software
- Preparing customer invoices and processing transactions accurately
- Answering multi-line phones and directing calls appropriately
- Assisting customers at the scale house and in the office
- Processing material sales and customer orders
- Maintaining accurate records and daily reports
- Entering data into company software and spreadsheets
- Coordinating with dispatch, drivers, yard personnel, and management
- Verifying load information and ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Assisting with inventory tracking and administrative tasks
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional office environment
- Performing other office and customer service duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Professional, positive, and dependable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience
While not required, experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Previous Weighmaster or Scale Operator experience
- Aggregate, recycling, construction, or landscape supply industry
- Trucking, transportation, or logistics
- QuickBooks or other accounting/POS software
- Customer service or sales experience
- Cash handling and invoicing
