Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, packaging and shipment of materials, components, and finished goods in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate inventory transactions, timely deliveries, compliance with company procedures, and effective coordination between production, warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams.
Key Responsibilities Shipping
- Prepare and process outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers, freight companies, and customers.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries to meet production and customer requirements.
- Verify shipping accuracy, including quantities, part numbers, and customer specifications.
- Generate bills of lading, packing slips, customs documents, and other required paperwork.
- Track shipments and resolve transportation issues, delays, or discrepancies.
Receiving
- Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Inspect shipments for damage, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders.
- Record received goods in the ERP or inventory management system.
- Coordinate with purchasing and quality departments to resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and distributed to production areas.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform inventory transactions.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or overages to management.
- Ensure inventory accuracy within warehouse and production locations.
Warehouse Operations
- Maintain organized and safe warehouse and receiving areas.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with production, purchasing, customer service, and quality teams.
- Communicate shipping schedules, inventory issues, and delivery status updates.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse and logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
