Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, lead food preparation and cooking activities, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your expertise in menu planning, fine dining techniques, and food handling will drive exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a leader in the kitchen, you will mentor team members, uphold cleanliness standards, and contribute to a vibrant, fast-paced environment that celebrates culinary excellence. 40-50 hour work week with consecutive days off.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of food preparation and cooking on the line, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Lead menu planning efforts, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes to delight guests.
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety standards and prevent cross-contamination.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, knife skills, meal preparation, and food safety protocols.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipe specifications, presentation standards, and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with catering events and special functions, ensuring consistent quality across all offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Uphold a positive team environment by motivating staff, providing constructive feedback, and fostering professional growth.
Experience
- Proven experience as a line cook or chef in a fast-paced restaurant or culinary setting.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry best practices.
- Experience with menu planning and fine dining presentation standards.
- Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus for understanding specialized meal needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Skilled in knife techniques, meal preparation, and catering services.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen environment is highly desirable.
