Industrial Engineer
Job Description
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Experience with plastic injection molding machines and processes in addition to other industrial automation products and components.
· 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing of machined parts, assembly of components, and ISO quality standards.
· 3 years of experience with product design.
· Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
· Hands-on experience building small prototypes.
· Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
· Knowledge of ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect the outcome.
· Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
· Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload and be committed to continuous process improvement.
· Practical experience in industrial automation.
· Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems; ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Good organizational skills in order to manage a variety of different tasks.
· Extensive knowledge of PC and windows based software to include Microsoft Office products.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
· Conceives, designs, tests, and develops innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
· Coordinates the making of new products with the Machining, Fabrication, and Assembly Departments. This can include but is not limited to, creating Standard Work Instructions, Product travelers, and training assets.
· Responsible for designing control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs.
· Creates systems and production processes to ensure all products meet quality control standards.
· Develops standards for production and design by working with management and other departments.
· Evaluates and explores new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input to scheduling methods, performance metrics and financial standards.
· Utilizes principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to streamline processes.
· Researches and tests design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and/or root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
· Develops and designs robust manufacturing concepts to simplify/improve manufacturing processes to ensure best practice, performing structural and thermal analyses of components and assemblies, building prototypes, evaluating performance, identifying issues, and making improvements.
· Creates and maintains required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing.
· Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gain insight and direction.
