Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, air brake systems, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Repair and fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and fabrication skills to address equipment malfunctions or damage.
- Maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery by performing inspections and necessary repairs.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving hydraulics, HVAC systems on heavy machinery, transmissions, and electrical systems with precision.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures to ensure proper functionality post-maintenance.
- Document all repair activities thoroughly in maintenance logs and communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service schedules.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with heavy-duty industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, vehicle maintenance, and automotive diagnostics.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for OEM parts and systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components.
- Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, HVAC systems on machinery, and farm equipment.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently for repairs or modifications.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Familiarity with tire service procedures and heavy lifting techniques required for equipment repair.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members or clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
