Job Summary:
As the Sr. Director of Operations & Maintenance, you will lead the planning, execution, and day-to-day operational support of large-scale telecommunications infrastructure networks across multiple regions. You will oversee program managers, OSP project teams, and contractors to deliver break-fix and maintenance services on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer service level agreements. Your customers include internal operations teams and external telecommunications clients, and you will make meaningful contributions through operational excellence, cross-functional leadership, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
- Lead national and regional operations & maintenance programs supporting fiber, wireless, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of OSP maintenance activities from ticket acceptance through closeout while ensuring quality, safety, budget, and schedule compliance.
- Lead and mentor operations teams while managing contractor, subcontractor, and vendor performance through KPIs and performance reviews.
- Drive process improvements through standardized workflows, dashboards, reporting, scheduling, resource allocation, and data analytics.
- Collaborate with engineering, permitting, procurement, finance, legal, field operations, and customers while providing executive-level reporting and communication.
- Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of telecommunications construction, operations, or program management experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale infrastructure programs.
- Proven success managing multi-million-dollar telecommunications programs across multiple geographic regions.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of OSP/ISP construction practices, fiber deployment, and wireless infrastructure.
- Proficiency with project management software, ERP systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience leading nationwide telecommunications operations and maintenance programs.
- Experience supporting large-scale fiber and wireless network infrastructure.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and travel regularly to field sites and regional offices.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support critical operational milestones.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
