Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team and drive excellence in financial management. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory standards.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers with precision and attention to detail.
- Conduct journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and month-end closing activities to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support internal controls compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and documenting processes thoroughly.
- Utilize advanced Excel data analysis skills for budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while providing exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with payroll management using systems like ADP or Kronos and oversee payroll-related transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to governmental accounting projects or non-profit accounting tasks as needed, applying specialized knowledge where applicable.
- Support audit preparations by providing detailed account analysis and documentation for external auditors.
Experience
- Proven professional experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong foundation in corporate accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Experience working with financial systems like Workday or ADP for payroll processing is preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental or non-profit accounting practices enhances your suitability for this role.
- Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, balance sheet management, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in public accounting or working within complex financial environments will be considered an asset.
