Carr Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support both outpatient care and surgery.
We are seeking a versatile, skilled assistant who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment — balancing exam room care, surgical support, and client communication. We value experienced assistants for the hands-on clinical skills, reliability, and genuine care they bring across all areas of the hospital. Exotic animal experience is a plus.
What You'll Do:
- Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Perform dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identify patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $17 - 20 per hour, for each hour worked (based on skills and credentials)
- This is a full-time position, working approximately 4.5 days per week, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday. No weekends and no on-call requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience REQUIRED
- Exotics animal handling experience is preferred
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Radiology positioning and safety protocols
- Client education and communication
