Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Collections Representative to join their Finance team. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts by contacting members via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect outstanding balances, establish payment arrangements, and resolve account issues. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and negotiation skills, while ensuring compliance with applicable collection policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of delinquent consumer loan and credit card accounts.
· Contact members by phone, email, and mail to resolve past-due balances and establish payment arrangements.
· Monitor repayment plans and follow up on delinquent accounts to ensure payment commitments are met.
· Process eligible loan payment deferments and maintain accurate account documentation.
· Research and resolve account discrepancies
· Review collection reports and complete required follow-up activities.
· Ensure all collection activities comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and company policies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in collections, accounts receivable, or a related finance role
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and documentation habits
- Comfortable juggling multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP or accounting systems; CRM experience is a bonus
- Will be required to work every other Saturday. Saturday will be remote day.
