The Accounting & Reporting Manager supports Green Dot Labs' Finance function by leading core accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting team development. This role serves as a key partner to the Controller and CFO, helping strengthen reporting accuracy, close discipline, internal controls, and financial visibility across a growing multi-entity, multi-market business.
This position is intended for a technically strong accounting leader who can operate with ownership, improve processes, support audit-ready documentation, and contribute to executive-level reporting. The role also supports cross-functional alignment with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production, particularly related to inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing reporting.
- Own and lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial statements across all entities.

Review complex reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.

Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and aligned with internal control expectations.

Identify and resolve accounting issues in partnership with the Controller.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reporting packages for executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.

Enhance management reporting and operational insights, including visibility into AR, AP, and working capital metrics.

Partner with the Controller and CFO to improve reporting cadence, analytics, and executive-level visibility into business performance.

Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles as needed.
- Directly manage and support accounting team members, including AR, AP, and general accounting functions.

Set clear priorities, deadlines, and expectations for accounting team deliverables.

Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to support team development and accountability.

Support workload planning, cross-training, and continuity coverage across the accounting function.

Partner with the Controller on team structure, process ownership, and departmental development needs.
- Lead and support process improvements, system integrations, and internal control enhancements.

Strengthen documentation standards and accounting workflows to support scalability.

Serve as a key contributor during external audits or reviews, acting as a primary liaison for accounting-related requests.

Support audit readiness and continuous improvement across accounting operations.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Production to support accurate inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing reporting.

Support inventory valuation and operational financial analysis as needed.

Provide oversight or support for payroll-related accounting duties, depending on final scope.

Support additional finance initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.

CPA and public accounting experience preferred.

Prior experience directly managing accounting staff or leading accounting workflows required/preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close ownership within complex or multi-entity environments.

Experience preparing and presenting executive-level financial reporting with accuracy and business insight.

Experience leading, developing, or mentoring accounting team members.

Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and documentation standards.

Manufacturing, CPG, agriculture, cannabis, or regulated industry experience preferred.

Exposure to inventory valuation and cost accounting strongly preferred.

Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems preferred.

Highly organized, analytical, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong professional judgment, communication skills, and ability to handle confidential information.
This role is primarily office-based in Boulder, CO and works closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and executive leadership. Additional hours may be required during month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, audits, or other key reporting cycles.
