At Advanced Periodontics & Implants, we pride ourselves on a strong, specialized hygiene program focused on advanced non-surgical periodontal therapy and ongoing periodontal maintenance. Our hygienists work closely together and alongside our periodontists, with support always nearby. We view dental hygienists as co-managers of periodontal patients, making them a vital contributor to successful long-term periodontal disease management.
Position Overview
This is a full or part time dental hygienist position that will allow full utilization of your clinical skills, while offering competitive compensation, benefits and an outstanding work–life balance.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Full Time or Part Time, as individual hygienist’s schedule and hours are negotiable
- Current Hygiene hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Office open Fridays: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (while there is time available on Fridays for hygiene, you are not required to work on Fridays)
- No nights or weekends

Required Qualifications
- Current dental hygiene license in the state and compliance with all state requirements
- Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Experience providing:
- Periodontal Maintenance
- Scaling and Root Planing
- Local anesthesia
- Nitrous Oxide Administration
- Dental radiographs
Responsibilities
- Specialized Periodontal Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of periodontal anatomy, disease progression, and advanced treatment modalities
- Instrumentation Expertise: Utilize ultrasonic scalers, curettes, and other specialized periodontal instruments
- Patient Assessment & Diagnosis:
- Review medical/dental history
- Take vitals
- Perform oral cancer screenings
- Complete comprehensive periodontal charting (probing, recession, bleeding)
- Periodontal Therapy:
- Perform scaling and root planing
- Apply subgingival antibiotics or medicaments as prescribed
- Preventive & Supportive Care:
- Administer fluoride
- Polish restorations
- Provide personalized oral hygiene instruction
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients on periodontal disease, nutrition, and plaque control
- Motivate patients toward long-term periodontal health
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with periodontists / hygienists from API and also dental practitioners from referring dental offices
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and intraoral photography
- Practice Support:
- Maintain treatment rooms
- Sterilize instruments
- Maintain equipment
- Communicate effectively with referring offices, fellow team members, and periodontists
