Position Summary
We’re looking for a Head of Technology to own the technical direction of the Dassian solution suite: how our products are architected, secured, evolved on and around SAP, and enhanced with AI, bringing our Product Security, AI, and Platform/Development capabilities together under one coherent product vision. This is a CEO-facing role responsible for the security of Dassian’s solutions, embedding AI into the product and our delivery, and directing the engineering that builds and ships the product suite.
A core mandate is guiding the shifting SAP landscape: SAP BTP, clean core principles, and the growing set of options to build outside the core SAP stack and integrate via API, while partnering with hyperscalers (private and public cloud) to innovate and scale. You will bring the depth to sharpen and accelerate the direction we’ve already begun setting in this space.
Shaping and right-sizing the team is how you deliver this: a continued strong and secure Dassian solution suite is the goal. You’ll take an existing team and shape it into this unified function, right-sizing the structure, raising the standards, and hiring selectively where gaps exist, while sitting at the executive table. In the near term you will lead all three areas hands-on. As the organization matures, dedicated Product Security and AI leads will report into this role, allowing you to focus on overall technology strategy, platform architecture, and executive leadership. You’ll work closely with the CEO, Delivery, Growth, and Customer Care leadership to align technology investment with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Platform & SAP Strategy
- Solution Platform architecture: Own Dassian’s platform and integration architecture strategy, including SAP BTP adoption, clean core discipline, and API-based extensibility beyond the SAP core.
- Roadmap evolution: Sharpen and drive the roadmap around the ever-evolving SAP landscape, partnering with hyperscalers to enable innovation and scale.
- Investment decisions: Make build-vs-buy and platform investment decisions that balance SAP alignment with flexibility, resilience, and cost.
Product Security (initially hands-on; later via a dedicated Product Security Lead)
- Own the security of Dassian’s solutions, including secure-by-design architecture, a secure SDLC, threat modeling, and secure coding standards across the product portfolio.
- Run product vulnerability management, covering SAST/DAST, open-source and dependency risk, and timely remediation of CVEs and SAP security notes.
- Own the security and authorization model of the product on SAP and across its BTP, API, and hyperscaler integrations.
- Represent the product’s security posture in client security reviews, audits, and accreditation; support the compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, ITAR, FedRAMP) that enable defense and government customers to deploy Dassian.
AI (initially hands-on; later via a dedicated AI Lead)
- Direct execution of Dassian’s AI strategy, including the A.I.M. (Align, Integrate, Multiply) Executive AI Operating Framework.
- Govern responsible use of AI internally and in client delivery; evaluate build-vs-buy decisions on AI tooling.
Engineering & Development
- Lead the engineering/development function, including technical hiring, architecture standards, code quality, and delivery velocity.
- Ensure engineering output is secure by design and aligned to product and delivery priorities.
Team & Leadership
- Right-size the existing team and define clear structure, roles, and leveling across Product Security, AI, Platform, and Development as a unified function.
- Recruit and develop dedicated Product Security and AI leads as the function matures, building the layer of leadership beneath you.
- Represent Technology in CEO-level strategy discussions and report on technology risk, delivery, platform, and AI adoption progress.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in technology leadership roles.
- Direct leadership experience, at least to start, across: product/application security, AI/ML, and software engineering.
- Strong SAP ecosystem knowledge (e.g., S/4HANA, BTP, clean core) and experience integrating SAP with external systems via API.
- Hands-on experience with cloud/hyperscaler environments (private and public cloud) and modern integration architecture.
- Experience restructuring or right-sizing a technology function.
- Track record hiring and managing engineering, product security, or AI teams.
- Strong grounding in secure software development, including secure SDLC, threat modeling, and application vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into executive-level terms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and shipping SAP-certified software products and keeping them certified across SAP releases.
- Experience building or scaling an applied AI program.
- Experience establishing or scaling a product/application security program (secure SDLC and AppSec tooling) in a software company.
- Experience leading SAP evolution or cloud migration initiatives.
- Familiarity with SAP security and authorization models (roles, GRC).
- Familiarity with the compliance frameworks that govern software for defense and government customers, including NIST 800-171, CMMC, ITAR/export control, and FedRAMP (SOC 2 a plus).
- Experience serving as a client-facing security or technology executive.
- Experience inheriting an existing team and maturing it by raising standards and reshaping structure without a full rebuild.
Pay: $185,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
