Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director and direct supervision of the Charge RN, the Monitor Technician will perform the following job duties:

Admits and discharges patients from the cardiac monitoring system

Continuously monitors patients on cardiac telemetry, ensuring accurate surveillance and prompt recognition of rhythm changes.

Communicates cardiac rhythms and any significant rhythm changes to nursing staff as requested or in accordance with department policy.

Prints, interprets, and documents cardiac rhythm strips per policy; forwards completed rhythm strips to the Unit Secretary for filing.

Applies critical thinking skills to effectively monitor patients, manage telemetry equipment, and adjust alarm settings in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Troubleshoots telemetry equipment and reports malfunctions or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Ensures accurate telemetry billing input and enters other applicable patient charges as required.

Maintains accurate documentation and adheres to departmental, regulatory, and patient safety standards.

Required: High School Diploma/GED
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required: BLS
