Town of Sullivan's Island is a small, island town on the coast of SC. We are professional and our goal is to serve the residents and visitors to the Town of Sullivan's Island.
We are seeking a Firefighter to join our team and help protect our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to fire and medical emergencies, providing first aid, rescuing victims, and controlling hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent physical fitness, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our Firefighters must also be able to effectively communicate with both the public and other members of the firefighting team. Certified Firefighter/EMT preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical aid as needed.
- Be able to work in hazardous environments and hazardous materials.
- Carry out search and rescue operations in hazardous environments.
- Operate firefighting equipment such as hoses, ladders, and pumps.
- Inspect buildings for fire hazards and provide fire prevention advice.
- Perform maintenance on firefighting equipment.

The Fire Department may establish a 12-month eligibility list if more that 2 eligible applications are received.
Starting salary is variable DOQ.
