Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations, including cash drawer handling, cash handling, and balancing registers at shift end
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, assisting with product locations, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits of merchandise
- Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance the customer’s purchase experience
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to keep the store visually appealing
- Maintain phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or coordinating store activities
- Assist with inventory management through stocking and inventory counts, ensuring products are well-presented and available
- Support team members with supervising experience by helping train new staff or guiding less experienced colleagues
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar store environments
- Strong knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for retail math calculations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers positively
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Experience in cashiering, cashier training, or supervising retail staff is desirable
- Familiarity with grocery store procedures and product demos is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and customer service best practices
