Job Summary: To develop, plan and implement outreach, prevention and educational programming related to domestic violence and sexual assault within a nine county catchment area.
Turning Point DV/SA Services is seeking an energetic, outgoing person to serve as our Education and Outreach Coordinator for Tuscaloosa and the surrounding counties. The ideal candidate will be a well spoken, self-starter who is passionate about educating others and disseminating information regarding the services Turning Point provides and the prevalence of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Primary Responsibilities:
Must be energetic, outgoing and passionate about helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, training others, and disseminating information regarding Turning Point services.
Develop prevention and educational programming on domestic violence and sexual assault for professionals as well as middle school, high school and college students.
Provide presentations to students, agencies, community partners, businesses and various other entities.
Develop relevant and up-to-date brochures and informational materials.
Attends events and conferences as an exhibitor and represents the organization in a professional manner.
Maintain and manage organization's social media accounts.
Develop and nurture relationships with partner agencies and assist in coordination of services.
Ensure deliverables for assigned grants are met in a timely manner including mandatory reporting.
Plan and coordinate organization events and fundraising efforts.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain records and collects and enters data in organization database.
Conducts evaluations on program effectiveness and tracks data on number of persons reached as part of ongoing outreach improvement efforts.
Communicates issues, progress and barriers to the Office Manager and Executive Director in a timely manner.
Works with Office Manager and Executive Director in ensuring knowledge and information regarding the organization is reaching as many community members as possible.
Attends local and statewide meetings.
Attends staff meetings.
Assists in planning and scheduling trainings for administration and staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in social sciences or a related field preferred.
Strong, outgoing and friendly personality.
Excellent speaking and written skills.
Passionate about advocacy and education, especially as it relates to domestic violence and sexual assault.
Willingness to travel frequently to rural counties in our area.
Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, liability insurance, and willingness to use vehicle in job-related duties (mileage reimbursed).
Work Schedule:
Normal work schedule is typically 40 hours per week with flexible hours as necessary to meet programming needs. Some evenings and weekend hours will be required.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
