Position Summary
The Market Manager is responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and operational excellence of Peak Refreshments' unattended retail markets. This role oversees product assortment, merchandising, pricing, inventory optimization, fresh food reporting, new market implementation, vendor partnerships, and market analytics to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Market Manager works closely with Operations, Route Managers, Warehouse, Sales, Culinary, and vendor partners to ensure every market is well-stocked, visually appealing, and operating efficiently.
- Essential Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Performance
- Develop and execute overall market strategy, including product assortment, merchandising, promotions, pricing, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Monitor market performance and identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability.
- Research, evaluate, and introduce new products based on customer demand, market trends, and sales performance.
- Develop and implement quarterly promotional programs, including promotional images, reporting, and performance analysis.
- Continuously evaluate market appearance and customer experience to maintain Peak Refreshments' quality standards.
Fresh Food Management & Reporting
- Manage daily fresh food meal count reporting utilizing forecasting and inventory software.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute operational reports including:
- Daily Zero-Out Reports
- Weekly Meal Waste Reports
- Monthly Fresh Food Production Reports
- Monthly Inventory and Par Level Reviews
- Weekly Subsidy Reporting
- End-of-Month Subsidy Reporting
- Analyze production and waste trends to improve forecasting accuracy and minimize food waste.
Market Operations
- Coordinate new market installations using Seed and Avanti systems, including:
- Planogram development
- Product setup
- System uploads
- Installation support
- Maintain market data, including pricing, margins, product information, and item details.
- Develop, manage, and update planograms to optimize product placement and customer experience.
- Review field images through Seed to verify merchandising standards and coordinate corrective actions with Route Managers.
- Adjust market inventory levels and product par levels to maximize availability while controlling waste.
- Coordinate market removals within Seed and Avanti systems.
- Troubleshoot merchandising issues including discontinued items, substitutions, and product placement.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Negotiate supplier rebates, promotional opportunities, and marketing partnerships.
- Source, test, and evaluate new products and vendors.
- Coordinate supplier rebate reporting and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with vendor partners to maximize promotional opportunities and profitability.
Inventory & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate product databases and system information.
- Troubleshoot Seed software issues and coordinate with system support as needed.
- Ensure accurate product images, descriptions, pricing, and inventory information across all market systems.
Communication & Collaboration
- Prepare internal communications, including company newsletters and operational updates.
- Partner with Operations, Route Managers, Sales, Warehouse, Culinary, and leadership teams to improve market performance.
- Provide recommendations based on reporting, analytics, and market trends.
Qualifications
- Experience in vending, micro markets, retail merchandising, food service, or convenience retail preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Seed, Avanti, Cantaloupe, or similar retail management systems is preferred.
- Ability to analyze reports and make data-driven business decisions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Pay: $53,757.28 - $64,739.95 per year
