John Guire Supply is looking for a dependable Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and company yard equipment.
We're seeking someone with mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. While we prefer candidates with previous experience working on gasoline and diesel engines, we're also willing to train the right individual who is eager to build a career in fleet maintenance.
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, steering, suspension, brake, cooling, and driveline systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company vehicles.
- Maintain and repair company yard equipment including forklifts, trailers, generators, loaders, and other support equipment.
- Complete inspections and accurately document repairs and maintenance performed.
- Help identify potential equipment issues before they become costly repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work as part of a team to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience working on gasoline and diesel engines is preferred.
- Experience maintaining medium and heavy-duty trucks is preferred.
- Recent graduates of an automotive or diesel technology program are encouraged to apply.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive attitude and team-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
