As a leasing professional at DHA, you play a key role in accomplishing the agency’s goals by helping clients access affordable housing. You will work with the assistant manager of housing services to interview, investigate and verify eligibility of clients for DHA Housing Voucher programs, maintain client files and respond to requests for information.

- Warmly greet clients and ensure they feel comfortable while collecting any relevant information and answering any questions they have about the DHA Housing Voucher program

Conduct interviews, verify the family’s eligibility for the DHA Housing Voucher program and compute the family’s portion of rent

Maintain client files by conducting home visits, verifying information and processing program documentation files as required

Advise clients on their rights and responsibilities under the Walker Settlement and the Housing Choice Voucher
-
Perform administrative duties such as data entry, preparing and processing various documents and coordinating and scheduling meetings as requested

Explain the nature of DHA programs, procedures and services to clients while maintaining absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records and DHA information

Enthusiastically promote the President/CEO’s priorities for the operations of DHA

knowledge of DHA’s organization, operations, policies and procedures

knowledge of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing program regulations and eligibility requirements

organizational skills for assessing, reviewing, updating and maintaining files, reports and documentation

high emotional intelligence to build strong working relationships with coworkers and interact with people of all backgrounds

strong communication and interviewing skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or a related field

Two (2) years of related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Rent Calculation Certification required within 6 months of appointment

Valid Texas State Drivers’ License required
