Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Houseman to join our dynamic hospitality team. Duties
- Perform floor cleaning and care using appropriate equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and mops to ensure pristine surfaces throughout the property
- Handle various cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and public areas
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines for chemical handling
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks related to moving furniture, supplies, or equipment in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain proper use and storage of chemical agents and cleaning supplies, ensuring compliance with safety standards and hotel procedures
- Support hotel housekeeping management by replenishing supplies and reporting maintenance or sanitation issues promptly
- Provide excellent customer service by responding courteously to guest requests or inquiries related to cleanliness or facilities
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience within a hospitality or industrial cleaning environment
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, sanitation standards, and hotel housekeeping management practices
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely and understand safety data sheets (SDS) for all cleaning products used
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, vacuuming, and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols is preferred
- Prior experience with cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, or industrial vacuums is advantageous
