The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure smooth and continuous operation. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring machinery meets operational and safety standards. The Mechanic works closely with the Line Supervisor and Machine Operators to proactively identify mechanical issues and implement solutions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment as scheduled.
- Respond quickly to equipment malfunctions and minimize production interruptions.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and parts used.
- Collaborate with the Line Supervisor and other team members to identify root causes of recurring issues.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company protocols.
Minor Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with installation and setup of new machinery.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and report shortages.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance.
- Keep the maintenance area clean, organized, and in compliance with 5S standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Experience in a maintenance or mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
