Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, power tools, and irrigation systems to maintain lawns, gardens, and landscapes.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and planting bed care to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and pest management; apply pesticides following safety protocols when necessary.
- Maintain hardscape features like pathways, patios, and retaining walls by cleaning and minor repairs to enhance landscape functionality.
- Conduct tree trimming and pruning to promote safety and healthy growth while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep outdoor areas accessible and safe.
- Follow all safety procedures diligently while operating equipment such as excavators or other groundskeeping machinery.
Experience
- Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with horticulture principles, plant identification, and hardscape installation enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Ability to operate groundskeeping machinery safely and efficiently including lawnmowers, excavators, and snow plows.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to pesticide management, equipment operation, and outdoor work environments.
- Experience with tree care practices such as trimming or pruning is a plus.
- A proactive attitude with outdoor work experience that demonstrates reliability, physical stamina, and a passion for maintaining beautiful landscapes.
