Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, feeding, and medication reminders
- Support clients with mobility transfers using patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts or gait belts
- Administer medications following medical instructions while adhering to home healthcare regulations and HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Provide specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care, including memory care techniques and behavioral support strategies
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia
- Knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, wound management, and end-of-life care practices
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods and mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or gait belts
