Position Summary
The Assistant Retail Manager supports the Retail Manager in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer experience, and ensuring operational excellence. This role assists with the day-to-day management of the store, helps develop the retail team, and serves as the Manager on Duty in the Retail Manager's absence. The Assistant Retail Manager leads, by example, uphold company standards and culture, and contributes to achieving sales goals while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales & Customer Experience
- Support the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
- Lead by example by providing exceptional customer service and personalized consultations.
- Coach Beauty Advisors on selling techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
- Monitor sales performance throughout the day and help implement strategies to achieve targets.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues to the Retail Manager when appropriate.
Team Leadership
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Provide daily coaching and real-time feedback to Beauty Advisors.
- Reinforce company policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
- Help maintain a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
- Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned or when the Retail Manager is unavailable.
Operations
- Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and shipment processing.
- Monitor visual merchandising standards and maintain brand presentation.
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and store security.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, operational processes, and safety standards.
Scheduling & Administrative Support
- Assist the Senior Manager of Retail with scheduling based on business needs.
- Help monitor attendance and communicate scheduling concerns.
- Complete operational reports and submit required documentation accurately and on time.
- Support execution of promotions, events, and company initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to coach and motivate a sales team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Comfortable using POS systems and retail technology.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
