New York Sales Manager
Location: New York City
Reports to: Vice President of National Sales & Professional Development
Compensation
- Base Salary: $110,000–$115,000
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $200,000+

Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced sales leader to own and grow our New York market. This high-impact role combines hands-on selling with team leadership, offering the opportunity to drive revenue, build key customer relationships, and shape our presence across one of our most strategic markets.
You'll spend approximately 60–70% of your time managing priority accounts and driving new business, primarily in Brooklyn and Staten Island, and 30–40% coaching a team of two company representatives while serving as the primary point of contact for our independent partners throughout New York. The role carries both an individual quota and a rolled-up team number with direct selling emphasis in Brooklyn and Staten Island while serving as the senior sales presence across the broader New York market.

This role is responsible for representing and positioning the full Perfection Learning portfolio to meet the instructional and operational needs of New York districts and schools.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Growth Across New York
- Own sales strategy and results across New York, including NYC DOE, charter and private school networks, and districts statewide.
- Drive renewals, expansion, and new business while building strong relationships with key education leaders.
- Navigate complex purchasing cycles and identify opportunities for long-term growth.
Lead & Develop the Team
- Coach and mentor sales representatives and partner sellers to maximize performance.
- Provide ongoing feedback, pipeline coaching, and territory planning support.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture.
Drive Revenue
- Achieving individual sales targets while supporting overall team success.
- Develop strategic territory plans, manage forecasts, and identify growth opportunities.
Collaborate Across the Business
- Partner with Marketing, Professional Development, and Customer Experience teams to ensure successful customer onboarding, implementation, and retention.
- Deliver a seamless customer experience from first conversation through renewal.
Execute with Excellence
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, and reporting.
- Proactively identify risks, solve challenges, and keep deals moving forward.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in K–12 education sales or senior leadership roles within NYC DOE or NYC charter organizations, with demonstrated knowledge of district decision-making, procurement, and adoption pathways.
- Prior experience leading, influencing, coaching, or coordinating teams through formal sales management or district/organizational leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success driving adoption, implementation, or growth of instructional materials, curriculum, or edtech solutions.
- Strong understanding of NYC DOE structure, charter networks, and key statewide stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and high expectations in a high-stakes education environment.
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Established credibility with internal teams and New York customers.
- Clear visibility into pipeline, renewals, and risk areas across NYC and the broader state.
- Active ownership of priority selling activity in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

- Stabilized execution with minimal escalation to senior leadership.
