Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Flux Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations on various metal materials, ensuring all work aligns with industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise in flux welding techniques will contribute to the successful completion of complex fabrication projects across construction sites and manufacturing environments. Duties
- Execute flux welding processes such as FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on diverse metal materials including sheet metal and structural components.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and schematics to accurately fabricate and assemble metal structures.
- Measure and mark materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds.
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, rigging equipment, and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, sheet metal cutting, bending, and assembly tasks according to ASME codes & standards.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, AWS standards, and site-specific procedures during all welding and fabrication activities.
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects involving metal fabrication, assembly, rigging, and installation tasks on-site or in the shop environment.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures and site protocols.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and interpreting mechanical blueprints for fabrication tasks.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques including FCAW, MIG welding, TIG welding, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting.
- Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes, metal materials handling, pipe threading, ductwork manufacturing, and assembly.
- Familiarity with rigging practices, forklift operation (where applicable), machining tools, soldering techniques, press brake machines, and power tools.
- Understanding of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping when applicable; basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings or schematics related to mechanical or structural components.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards; commitment to quality craftsmanship in all tasks performed.
