Job Description:
As Enrollment Communications Manager, you'll shape how prospective students and families experience OLLU from their very first inquiry through their first day on campus. You'll write and manage the emails, texts, and outreach that guide undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students through the enrollment process. The ideal candidate writes with voice and intentionality, brings hands-on experience running campaigns through a CRM platform, and reports on performance with the rigor to continuously improve results. Slate experience is a plus but not required, as long as you're a fast learner.
Performance Evaluation Metrics:
Funnel Communication Performance: Track and report on campaign engagement (opens, clicks, opt-outs) and communicate progress toward enrollment goals; deliver monthly performance reports to Enrollment leadership.
Campaign Execution: Design, build, and deploy all enrollment email and SMS campaigns on schedule and within brand standards; maintain consistent communication coverage across all active populations.
A/B Testing & Optimization: Conduct ongoing testing to improve messaging effectiveness; document findings and apply learnings each cycle.
Slate CRM Integrity: Maintain accurate population queries, delivery rules, and communication history in Slate; ensure all campaigns are properly targeted, sequenced, and tracked.
Staff Training & Enablement: Ensure all admissions counselors are trained and confident in Slate communication tools and campaign dashboards within 60 days of onboarding.
Job Requirements:
Essential Functions:
Enrollment Communication Strategy
- Develop and own the annual enrollment communications plan for all populations (freshman, transfer, graduate, online, military/veteran, etc.) across the full recruitment cycle.

Translate enrollment goals and recruitment priorities into audience-specific, channel-appropriate communication strategies.

Evaluate communication effectiveness and report findings monthly to Enrollment leadership.

Partner with the Head of Admissions and Marketing & Communications to ensure alignment with OLLU brand standards.
Slate CRM - Campaign Management & Workflow Architecture
- Serve as the primary Slate CRM administrator for enrollment communications: design, build, test, deploy, and optimize all email and SMS campaigns, drip sequences, and event workflows.

Build and maintain Slate population queries and delivery rules for accurate audience targeting and communication sequencing across all populations.

Design multi-channel drip campaigns in Slate for prospects, transfer students, admitted student yield, and post-deposit onboarding.

Configure event communication workflows: registration confirmations, reminder sequences, and post-event follow-up for all major enrollment events.

Train admissions counselors on Slate communication tools, campaign dashboards, and communication history tracking.

Stay current on Slate platform updates and best practices through Technolutions resources and peer institution engagement.
Content Creation & Copywriting
- Write, edit, and produce all enrollment email and text copy for all populations across the recruitment cycle.

Maintain a comprehensive enrollment communications content library with templates for each funnel stage, audience, and channel.

Develop parallel student and parent communication tracks that provide families with the information to support enrollment decisions.

Review and refresh all communication templates annually to reflect current programs, scholarships, deadlines, and priorities.
Multichannel Execution & Analytics
- Manage SMS communications, including opt-in management and TCPA compliance.

Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to align digital advertising and social media efforts with the enrollment communications calendar.

Build and maintain a communications performance dashboard for Enrollment leadership.

Conduct ongoing A/B testing to improve messaging effectiveness; document findings and apply learnings each cycle.

Prepare and present quarterly communications performance reports to Enrollment Management leadership.

Support admissions counselors with communication strategies for key prospects throughout the recruitment cycle.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Hands-on experience running email/SMS campaigns through a CRM platform: building campaigns, managing audience segments, and configuring automated workflows (required). Slate experience is a plus, not required ? willingness and ability to learn Slate quickly is what matters most.

Exceptional written communication skills with a demonstrated portfolio of compelling enrollment or marketing copy.

Strong analytical skills; experience interpreting campaign performance data and translating findings into actionable strategy.

Experience managing SMS campaigns with working knowledge of TCPA compliance requirements.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns and deadlines without sacrificing quality or accuracy.

Familiarity with supplemental enrollment tools (SMS platforms, texting/cadence tools, or equivalent) a plus.

Background in HTML/CSS for email template development or graphic design for enrollment materials a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Higher Education, or related field (required).

Four (4) + years of experience in enrollment communications, marketing, or digital marketing, including hands-on experience with CRM-driven campaigns (required).

Master's degree in communications, Higher Education Administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred).

Experience at a mission-driven or diverse-serving higher education institution a plus.
