Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment to restore vehicle frames and bodies.
- Conduct auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, sanding, and automotive cosmetic repair to achieve a smooth finish.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for precise auto painting, auto restoration, auto glass replacement, and detailing to ensure high-quality results.
- Fabricate and modify sheet metal components through fabrication repair techniques to meet specific repair needs or customizations.
- Install automotive parts such as bumpers, panels, trim pieces, and auto glass while ensuring proper fitment and alignment.
- Apply automotive body refinishing techniques including sanding tools, airless paint spraying, and auto painting to deliver a flawless appearance.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks as needed and support auto estimating processes by assessing damage and providing accurate repair estimates.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar auto repair role with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair methods, welding repair techniques (including MIG welding), and sheet metal fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with auto restoration projects, auto painting, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive parts installation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and customer service skills to ensure clear communication with clients.
- Ability to operate various tools including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and sanding tools safely and effectively.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions required for comprehensive vehicle repairs.
