Overview
Allstate Paper Box, a leading rigid box manufacturer in Newark, NJ, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Junior Packaging Estimator. Our ideal candidate has a curious mind and is a quick-learner. In this role, you will be trained to develop technical estimating skills and obtain product knowledge.
Duties
- Learn and perform cost estimates
- Prepare quotes and bill of materials under senior estimator supervision.
- Work with internal teams to translate customer specs into manufacturable solutions.
- Use estimating software and Excel to build accurate, timely proposals.
- Support continuous improvement by documenting assumptions, costs, and lessons learned.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to source materials based on cost, quality, and availability
- Maintain records of estimates and update as necessary.
Experience
- Strong attention to detail and strong math skills
- Proficiency with Excel; experience with CAD or estimating software is a plus
- Good communicator who can collaborate across sales and production
- Willingness to learn and complete a 6‑month training plan
- Adaptability to a dynamic work environment
- Strong pattern recognition skills with the ability to identify trends for process improvement
- Ability to analyze packaging specifications and apply logical reasoning
- Creative problem-solving skills

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
