For more than 50 years, the Vermont Interdisciplinary Team (I-Team) has championed school inclusion for Vermont students with complex disabilities. We are seeking a Family Resource Consultant to provide training and support to families of students with complex learning styles and complex support needs as they navigate Vermont school systems and supports.
The Vermont I-Team supports local school district educational teams by providing intensive special education technical assistance, professional development, systems-change support, and family-centered services for students with low incidence disabilities, including DeafBlindness, complex medical needs, multiple disabilities, autism, and intellectual disabilities.
As a Family Resource Consultant on the team, you will work with a dedicated team of 20+ interdisciplinary specialists working across Vermont to improve educational access and outcomes. This role includes cultivating strong relationships with families, providing families with assistance and support in navigating the special education process and person-centered planning, helping families access local, statewide, and national resources for family support, and helping families and school teams understand the best practices of inclusive education.
