A growing renewable energy facility in Reynolds, Indiana, is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Digester Operator to join its operations team.
This hands-on position plays an important role in safely and efficiently operating anaerobic digestion equipment that converts organic waste into renewable electricity and renewable natural gas. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, comfortable working around industrial equipment, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
What You’ll Do
As a Digester Operator, you will monitor plant operations, maintain equipment, collect samples, and help ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently throughout your shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and monitor the anaerobic digestion process.
- Control and monitor material entering the digesters.
- Monitor equipment, gauges, charts, and system readings.
- Make operational adjustments when necessary.
- Use a SCADA computer system to monitor plant processes.
- Coordinate with truck drivers delivering incoming materials.
- Collect material samples for testing and reporting.
- Perform basic laboratory analysis for process control.
- Complete light maintenance on pumps, mixers, motors, and related equipment.
- Submit work-order requests for repairs and scheduled maintenance.
- Conduct routine facility walks and cleanliness inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional plant environment.
- Assist with additional operational tasks as assigned by management.

- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in any of the following areas is helpful but not required:
- Agriculture or farming
- Heavy-equipment operation
- Industrial or manufacturing environments
- Welding
- General construction
- Electrical work
- Mechanical maintenance
