Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and professional welcome
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system; direct calls appropriately and take detailed messages
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments with a focus on maximizing provider production and maintaining an efficient recall system
- Greet and check in patients, verify insurance benefits, and collect co-pays and necessary documentation
- Dismiss patients with follow-up appointments and ensure they understand their treatment plan
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and reception area
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the day
- Promote a positive and friendly atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office is required
- Technical or College Degree in Dental Assisting is required
- Proficient in dental practice management software and general computer systems
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to smile often and maintain a warm, welcoming demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- Exceptional customer service mindset with the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment
- The ability to type and generate official letters and documents
