Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Recommend menu items, including sushi specials and beverages, to enhance guest satisfaction through upselling techniques like OpenTable reservations and suggestive selling
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area in compliance with sanitation standards and food industry regulations
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience, especially in sushi or fine dining settings, is highly preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable or similar reservation platforms is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and billing purposes accurately
- Open availability during nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate restaurant hours
- Prior host/hostess or serving experience in a nightclub or upscale restaurant environment is advantageous
