Job Overview
Implement the sales and marketing strategy for the hotel to insure that revenue and room night sales goals are achieved, tactical plans are implemented and results are monitored and achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce guest room business.
· Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact.
· Achieve budgeted revenues and Director of Sales’ sales goals for the Sales Department and maximize profitability within all areas of responsibility.
· Participate in the preparation of the annual operating budget, the hotel marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel. Produce weekly reports and sales forecasts.
· Implement hotel-level tactical sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase business during off-peak periods and enhance the image of the hotel in the local community. Monitor sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed the established revenue plan. Identify top producers in the hotel’s market.
· Maintain regular and punctual daily attendance in accordance with schedules approved by management.
· Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies.
· Attend out-of-town conventions and trade shows as required to promote sales and income revenue for the hotel.
· Promote and encourage team work and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
· Perform outside sales calls on a daily basis or on a schedule developed in coordination with and approved by the Director of Sales.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· May serve as “Manager-on-Duty” as required.

· Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
· Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

· Communications skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
· Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.
· Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
· Computer skills including email, excel, word, and brand related software.
· Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organization and training abilities are used often.
· Ability to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license
· May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
· Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
· Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 7.5 hours per day.
· Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
· Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
· Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
· Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
· Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.
· Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
· Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
High school degree or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred

2 – 4 years total experience in hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company MVR requirements.
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards.
