Job Summary
Join us for an engaging Hiring Event dedicated to selecting dedicated Housekeeping Attendants for a leading healthcare facility. As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring healthcare infection prevention and control standards are upheld through meticulous cleaning and sanitation practices. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare facility cleanliness and eager to contribute to patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, operating rooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle laundry processes efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment while handling chemical agents and cleaning tools.
- Utilize proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or heavy equipment to prevent injuries.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, mops, and buffers with skill and care.
- Support environmental services efforts by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards that promote patient safety and comfort.
Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling and workplace safety.
- Experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or hospital janitorial services.
- Proficiency in cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation procedures, and the use of commercial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors, and team members.
- Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention measures and environmental services best practices.
