Duties
- Prepare patients for nuclear medicine procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment such as PET scanners and DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scanners to capture high-quality images.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely following aseptic techniques and established safety protocols.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations by analyzing images for clarity, accuracy, and completeness, collaborating with physicians as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and radiation doses to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in performing specialized scans like DEXA scans for bone density assessment and PET scans for metabolic activity analysis.
- Uphold strict infection control practices using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, including radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety.
