Bixby Electric, Inc. is looking for diligent Junior Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information, performing take-offs, contacting suppliers for pricing, and supporting contract and proposals execution. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. Successful candidates will have excellent internal and external customer service skills, a desire to grow within a company, and some previous construction estimating experience.
Responsibilities
- Review plans and specifications (including take-off of material)
- Contacting suppliers for pricing and availability of materials
- Support Project Estimator with tasks necessary to complete proposals
- Conduct research to obtain data on available temporary housing, flights, equipment rental pricing, and support items for remote job sites
- Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
- Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
- Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
- Assist in Submittals, Subcontracts and Purchase orders on successful projects.
Skills
- Strong Math Skills - Ability to count specific items, compute volumes & surface areas, sum large groups of numbers, and review calculations with an analytical mindset.
- Thoroughness and reliability
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excel Experience Required
- Electrical Experience a plus
- Experience with Construction Estimating software a plus.
- Willing to train and develop the right person to grow
- Compensation Depends on Experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
