We are looking for an Applications Architect to join a contract engagement. This role will help establish and optimize enterprise application support platforms, with a focus on artifact repository and code quality tooling in a newly built environment. The ideal candidate combines architectural insight with hands-on configuration experience and can partner effectively with technical and delivery teams to ensure a smooth implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement new Sonatype Nexus and SonarQube environments to support application delivery needs.
- Review current repository layouts, scanning configurations, permissions, and related legacy setup to determine migration requirements.
- Create a future-state design for repository organization, project structures, user access, integrations, and platform configuration.
- Guide the transfer or rebuild of artifacts, quality profiles, rules, scan settings, and supporting technical assets into the new platforms.
- Work closely with product owners, infrastructure teams, CI/CD stakeholders, and project coordination groups to align timelines and resolve dependencies.
- Produce implementation guides, migration runbooks, validation steps, and handoff documentation for ongoing platform support.
- Facilitate testing and readiness activities to verify integrations, access controls, scanning behavior, and repository functionality.
- Identify execution risks, blockers, and decision points early and recommend practical solutions to keep delivery on track.
- Proven hands-on experience with Sonatype Nexus and SonarQube in enterprise application environments.
- Background in configuring, deploying, or migrating artifact management and code quality platforms.
- Strong understanding of application migration principles, repository design, CI/CD dependencies, and release readiness.
- Ability to convert legacy platform needs into scalable technical designs and implementation plans.
- Experience developing technical documentation such as procedures, runbooks, design artifacts, and test checklists.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across product, infrastructure, and platform teams.
- Familiarity with application architecture, API development, and technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET, and AWS.
