John Choi, MD, PC is a small independent pediatric office seeking a reliable and motivated team member for a hybrid front desk and clinical support role.
In this position, you will be assigned either front desk or clinical duties depending on the shift schedule (see responsibilities below). No prior medical experience is required. While Medical Assistant certification (CMA or CCMA) is preferred, it is not required at the time of hiring.
Applicants without certification will initially begin in an administrative/front desk role only. To transition into clinical responsibilities, CMA or CCMA certification is required. Tuition assistance is available for employees pursuing certification. Once certified, on-the-job clinical training will be provided.
This position is ideal for pre-PA or pre-med students seeking hands-on clinical experience during gap year(s). As a small office, we offer relatively flexible scheduling and are happy to discuss shift assignments and professional goals. Please note that we require a minimum 1–2 year commitment and are not accepting summer-only applicants.
Schedule
- Part-time
- 2–4 days per week
- Office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- No weekends
Front Desk Responsibilities
- Greeting and checking in patients
- Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
- Managing patient records and paperwork
- Communicating with our billing company and insurance providers
- Handling general administrative tasks
- Handing out stickers and candy to patients :)
Clinical Responsibilities
- Taking patient measurements and vital signs
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens (nasal/throat swabs, capillary draws, venipuncture, etc.)
- Performing basic in-house laboratory testing
- Administering vaccines
- Managing inventory for vaccines and medical supplies
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to commit for at least 1–2 years
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Experience working with children
- CMA or CCMA certification
- Korean and/or Spanish language proficiency
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
