Job Title: Experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal
Location: Madison, WI (Downtown / On-site)
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 / year (or comparable hourly rate)

Key Responsibilities
- Digital Discovery Management: Oversee the intake, organization, and tracking of extensive digital discovery via Dropbox; review bodycam footage, cell phone forensics, and police records to draft accurate case timelines and memos for attorney review.
- Pleadings & E-Filing: Draft motions (including motions to suppress, continuances, and discovery demands) and manage the firm’s Wisconsin circuit court e-filing via file-prep delegation.
- Client & File Management: Serve as a primary, professional point of contact for clients and their families; manage heavy phone intake with empathy and firm boundaries while keeping digital files meticulously updated.
- Legal Research: Conduct targeted case law research using Westlaw or LexisNexis to assist attorneys with motion practice and trial strategy.
- Trial Preparation: Organize comprehensive trial binders, manage exhibit lists, and ensure all evidentiary deadlines are strictly met.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2–4 years of paralegal experience (prior experience in criminal defense or heavy civil litigation is highly preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro (for document compilation and redaction), and Dropbox is required.
- Platform Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Westlaw/LexisNexis and the Wisconsin court e-filing system.
- Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills, laser-sharp attention to detail, and the ability to maintain composure and confidentiality in a high-stakes environment. A Paralegal Certificate or Degree is a strong plus.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
