Responsibilities
- Lead engaging activities across various camp programs including arts, sports, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote creativity and teamwork.
- Ensure the safety of all campers by supervising their activities closely and implementing proper behavior management techniques.
- Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including those with special education needs.
- Maintain clear communication with campers, parents, and fellow staff to support a cohesive camp experience.
- Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly.
- Assist with daily camp routines such as check-in/check-out procedures, meal supervision, and setting up activity stations.
- Support campers’ emotional well-being through Christian counseling principles or other positive guidance methods to promote respect and kindness.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as behavioral health, daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills to guide behavior positively and maintain an organized environment.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate activities and interactions.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high energy levels throughout the day.
