About Us
At Primrose School of Firestone, we believe healthy children learn best. We are looking for an energetic, organized, and caring Chef to join our team and prepare nutritious, delicious meals for our infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K students.
This is a full-time, year-round position with a family-friendly schedule—Monday through Friday with no evenings, weekends, or major holidays.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for approximately 150–200 children.
- Follow the Primrose approved menu while maintaining high-quality food presentation and taste.
- Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions with great attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen that exceeds health department and licensing standards.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and assist with food ordering.
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs are completed accurately.
- Work closely with the leadership team to create a positive dining experience for our students.
- Support special school events and celebrations when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook, chef, cafeteria cook, or childcare cook preferred.
- Experience preparing meals for large groups is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Current Food Handler or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
- A genuine passion for preparing healthy meals for young children.
