Job Description
We are seeking a Loan Officer to join our team! The Loan Officer is responsible for handling inbound requests, building rapport with the customer, determining the customer’s needs, taking applications, quoting fees and interest rates, as well managing the transaction from application through closing. Responsibilities:
· Taking thorough and complete applications
· Collecting and reviewing initial documentation needed for submission to processing
· Pricing loans, quoting fees and interest rates
· Managing CRM to include maintaining notes in the client record, effectively working follow-up tasks and ensuring data relating to communications and the status of leads is accurately documented
· Running automated approval systems, understanding the findings and correcting errors in the system as needed
· Advise the customer on the best loan program for their needs
· Valuate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits
· Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans
· Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up debt payment plans
· Communicate with clients either to request or to provide information
· Justify decisions (approvals/rejections) and report on them
· Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
· Update job knowledge on types of loans and other financial services
· Maintain and update account records
· Assess customer needs, explore all options and introduce different types of loans
· Develop referral networks, suggest alternate channels and cross-sell products and services to accomplish quotas
· Go the “extra mile” to build trust relationships, customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process
· Οperate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of industry standards for income, asset, credit, and appraisal approval
· Strong attention to detail and written communication
· Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
· Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment
· BS degree in finance, economics or a related field
· NMLS license
Requirements:
· Familiarity with Fannie, Freddie, FHA, VA, USDA, and portfolio mortgage lending
· Understanding of loan Program guidelines
· Ability to acquire all necessary licenses to in accordance to your State’s requirements
