Special Education Para Responsibilities include: Early childhood (grades kindergarten through 3rd) & Primary (grades 2nd through 5th)
- Provide instructional and behavioral support and assistance to classroom teachers and students assigned to a team in a K-8 setting.
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and sensory breaks.
- Record student progress on data sheets, goal sheets, and daily logs to assist the teacher and Behavior Coordinator.
- Assist with educational classroom needs and student behavior plans.
- Work collaboratively with a school-based team.

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college or AA degree desirable.
- Valid Ohio Educational Aide Certification
Experience:
- 1 year of accepted experience working with children with autism or other special needs, 2 years (Preferred)
- Special education: 1 year (Preferred)
- Experience with a social-communication classroom TEACCH-style program or a structured-style room for children with autism and/or special needs is preferred.
- Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with both families & staff.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and a positive and energetic attitude.
- Ability to move around considerably.
