Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Cashier / Deli Counter Help to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the friendly face greeting customers, managing food service transactions, and assisting with deli food preparation. Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations, including processing cash, credit/debit card payments, and giving correct change
- Assist customers with food service orders at the deli counter, providing friendly and knowledgeable service
- Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring food safety standards and sanitation protocols are maintained at all times
- Upsell products by recommending additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain a clean workspace by regularly sanitizing counters, equipment, and food handling areas
- Operate kitchen equipment safely for food preparation and support overall food industry standards in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, retail sales, or cashiering roles is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience with food handling, safety management, sanitation practices, and operating kitchen equipment is highly desirable
- Strong math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing basic calculations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
- Prior experience in quick service or fast food restaurants will be considered an asset
