Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sushi Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques. As a Sushi Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering high-quality meals to our guests. This position requires a commitment to food safety standards and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Must know how to make maki roll and hand roll with fast executions.
- Must know how to cut sashimi
- Know how to break down fish is a plus
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Support catering events as needed, ensuring high-quality food presentation and service.
- Work closely with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sushi or similar restaurant is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
- Experience in menu planning or catering is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
