Florida Housing Finance Corporation is recruiting for a business professional to join our team as a Legislative Coordinator. This is a highly responsible position working under the direction of the Managing Director of External Affairs.
The Legislative Coordinator reports to and supports the Managing Director of External Affairs in coordinating Florida Housing's legislative strategy, bill tracking, government relations, and public policy initiatives. This position provides policy research, bill analysis, legislative session support, and administrative coordination while serving as a liaison to legislative offices. The Legislative Coordinator works closely with the Managing Director of External Affairs to advance Florida Housing's legislative priorities and strategic objectives.
Position Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in legislative affairs, government relations, public policy, public administration, or a related field.

Knowledge of the legislative process and the ability to monitor, analyze, and communicate the impact of proposed legislation.

Experience researching legislation and preparing bill analyses, policy summaries, legislative reports, briefing materials, or formal correspondence.

Excellent analytical, research, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, interpret, and summarize complex information.

Ability to support executive leadership while exercising sound professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships while professionally representing Florida Housing with legislators, government officials, stakeholders, and colleagues.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working for a state agency, legislative office, elected official, governmental affairs office, or public affairs organization.

Experience using legislative tracking and reporting software, including LobbyTools.

Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
This is an in-person position in the Tallahassee office of Florida Housing Finance Corporation. We do not offer remote work options.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Anticipated hiring salary is $50,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Florida Housing provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, dental, vision, short and long-term disability insurance, and other miscellaneous programs. Paid vacation, sick and personal leave; 11 paid holidays; and 401/457 retirement accounts.
