Family Solutions Practice Management is looking for a competent, motivated, licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work under the supervision of our Physical Therapist with our pediatric population at our Pediatric Therapy Clinic. We are currently looking for a PTA for work on a full-time, part-time, or PRN basis.
JOB TITLE: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
JOB SUMMARY: Physical therapist assistants work under licensed physical therapists (PTs) to help people with physical injuries or illnesses of to regain range of movement and control their pain. Under the PT's direction, PT assistants help people who have lost motor function due to accidents, illness or age.
Physical Therapy Assistants follow plans created by PTs that involve stretching, strength training, exercises and physical manipulation to help people recover. PT assistants will track progress and report to the physical therapist. In addition, PT assistants are in charge of the treatment area, making sure that it is clean, neat, and ready for each patient.
Certification and Licensure:
- CPR certification
- Current State of Louisiana Physical Therapist Assistant license
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Essential Functions, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan
- Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans
- Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely
- Maintain patient records confidentially
- Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner
- Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested
- Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols
- Maintain work area, exam rooms and supplies
- Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times
- Follows all of Family Solutions Clinical policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and management
- Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Manager
- Attends meetings as requested
Experience working with pediatric clients is preferred but not necessary.
