Property Manager Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Avon Park Housing Authority Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour Schedule: Part-Time – 20 hours per week, with occasional weekend hours as needed Holiday Benefit: Part-time employees receive 4 hours of paid time off for scheduled holidays (half the full-time rate)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, organized, and people-focused Property Manager Assistant to support daily housing operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to build administrative experience, develop professional skills, and earn industry certifications while making a meaningful impact in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors professionally, providing courteous front-office support.
- Prepare and hand-deliver lease violation notices and other tenant documentation.
- Assist property managers with drafting letters, conducting annual recertifications, filing, and obtaining tenant signatures.
- Schedule and conduct initial interviews and lease signings for new tenants as needed.
- Maintain organized filing systems and manage waiting lists for housing applicants.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, adding machines, multi-line phones, copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
- Participate in HUD webinars and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the property management team or Executive Director.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Basic computer and typing skills; proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to interact with the public using tact, patience, and professionalism.
- Strong telephone etiquette and accurate message-taking.
- Ability to multitask and learn new skills quickly.
- Initiative, teamwork, assertiveness, and strong organizational habits.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate Degree is a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Spanish language skills are helpful but not required.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
Supervision
This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
