Recent graduate? Done some welding on your own? Are you ready to take your welding skills to the next level? Pay starting at $21/hr with regular increases as you learn and get certified
We’re also looking for Intermediate welders with experience in aluminum fabrication who want steady, meaningful work building boats that make a difference. We offer competitive pay starting at $23 based on experience with wage increases based on your progression as soon as in the first few months.
Aluminum Welder / Fitter
Position Summary & Requires Skills:
1. Fit and weld aluminum boats to applicable AWS standards as well as MetalCraft’s procedures and quality policies.
a. Must be, or quickly become, AWS certified in all position aluminum welding.
b. Must be able to read blueprints and construction drawings, accurately and efficiently following all applicable procedures and methods.
2. Must be comfortable operating power tools such as grinders, saws, drills, etc.
3. Must have a strong work ethic including excellent attendance.
4. Must work well with others and with minimal supervision.
5. Must have a strong attention to detail and have a continuous improvement mindset / approach.
Education and Required Experience:
1. A minimum of one year of aluminum welding experience. AWS certification is a definite asset.
2. Experience in reading construction drawings and blueprints.
3. A minimum of three years experience in a production / shop environment is an asset
4. Knowledge of boat building is a definite advantage.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to perform tasks in/under/on-top-of boats.
